Cartoon Animation Cels are a wonderful collection item; I remember when I was a kid I would wake up on Saturday morning before my parents got up, and went to get a glass of chocolate milk and plunked down in from of our giant 19” Black & White TV and watch cartoons. The classics like Dennis The Menace, Batman, Alvan, and the Chipmunks, Oh man, those were the days. And Now you can currently own a bit of history with Animation Legends.
Animation cels are created Initially by sketching a piece of art of what you would like to make. Then the sketch is transferred to a clear sheet of celluloid. This celluloid is painted with ink and paint. Next, once the ink and paint are dry each and every cel is photographed. Once photography is completed the film is stitched together to form a motion picture.
Each motion picture according to the length of time each movie is, could contain thousands to hundreds of thousands of cels and frames. This is where Animation Legends comes into the picture. The cels need to go somewhere like a warehouse. The Movie Studios just don’t throw them away or destroy them. Each and every cel that Animation Legends carries is One-of-a-kind and is certified.
A new animation pack is offered each month therefore, make certain to check back often to see the new packs. You may find something that you like. One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Ally OOP, Batman, Dick Tracy, and many, many more.

What is the Best Way to Preserve Cartoon Animation Cels?
The short answer: It’s best to keep them within the plastic packaging they came in. Otherwise, you can frame them to scale back the exposure to air.
The long answer is: We advise adding an insert lined with acid-free backing paper to your cel. If you want to border it, use a piece of UV plexiglass over the piece. A thin piece of framing mat can be used as well. But if with time the mat, it should be replaced to prevent damage to the cel.
Therefore, Direct sunlight, humidity, and unsteady temperatures should be avoided. As it is best attainable to preserve the ink, paint and its color also as well as the quality of the cel itself. If you’re trying to store your cels rather than putting them on display, you can do so by storing them in a vertical position spaced with tissue paper (or animation paper or semi-glossy paper) and something sturdy such as a thin piece of cardboard to keep them upright. Again, please avoid direct sunlight, humidity, and fluctuating temperatures for the most effective preservation. You can view the animation cels here. Cool stuff don’t you think?
